A Letter from Gary Oakley, Owner

Hello Guests,

Welcome to Sundance Mountain Lodge and thank you for coming.

Born and raised in Colorado, my goal with Sundance was to create a unique, artsy, Colorado hotel experience. And after a couple of years renovating, here we are!  We have mature trees, nice views, waterfalls, log bridges, duck pond, walking paths, tipis, artwork and balconies. We are easier to get to and less expensive than the mountain resorts with much of the same beauty and atmosphere.

And like Coloradoans we are:

-Green: Logs are from beetle or fire kill, carpet is recycled, lights are lowenergy etc.. (see list of environmental initiatives in lobby or on our website)

-Pet-friendly: We have walking paths, pet rooms and pet packages!

-Artsy: We have lots of local art including my photography (Horses in lobby and Colorado Nature details in guest rooms. See list on our website).

-Warm: Our staff is incredibly accommodating.  Long-term guests regularly ask me if they can give thank you giftsto  our staff!  I say  yes, and thanks!

-Unique: This is obviously not a typical chain hotel where the interest and atmosphere have been diluted and homogenized.

So please enjoy… and while you are at it: walk around the pond, catch a glimpse of Sundance Mountain (our namesake, just to your left as you leave the lobby), feed the ducks (food at front desk),  shoot some hoops, book a social gathering (but do it soon, our event facility is booking events a year out!), go to Oakley’s for Food, spirits and entertainment, play horseshoes, watch the sunset, sit on the cool couches in the Bistro and play board games!  Relax.

Thanks again for coming.
